We are currently working with a devoted single mother who is requesting assistance after experiencing a devastating vehicle fire that has created significant hardship for her family. During the emergency, her primary concern was ensuring the safety of herself and her seven children. Thankfully, everyone escaped without injury; however, the fire completely destroyed her vehicle along with her purse, resulting in the loss of important personal documents for the family.
Without reliable transportation, she is facing ongoing challenges getting to work and meeting her family’s daily needs. To make matters more difficult, her employer has recently reduced her work hours, creating additional financial strain on the household as she works to recover from this unexpected crisis.
The participant is requesting assistance with the costs of replacing birth certificates and Social Security cards for four of her seven children, as well as bus passes to provide dependable transportation while she works toward restoring stability for her family.
The children range in age from 4 to 13 years old (ages 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13). Assistance with these essential needs will help the family regain access to important identification documents and ensure the mother can continue traveling to work and caring for her children during this difficult time.
