This request is being made to help preserve the placement of a fifteen-year-old girl who was recently placed with a non-relative caregiver. As the caregiver adjusts her work schedule and daily responsibilities to meet the teen’s ongoing needs, she is experiencing financial hardship at the moment and could greatly benefit from community support during this transition. Because this is a new placement, there is currently no funding coming into the home as any financial assistance does take time. The teen arrived in the placement with little to no clothes, leaving the caregiver responsible for meeting all of her immediate needs. We are requesting assistance with a day bed, so the teen has a safe and comfortable place to sleep. In addition, if anyone is able to donate clothing, the teen wears a men’s medium shirt, size 34/36 pants, and size 8.5 men’s (or size 10 women’s) shoes. These clothing needs were not included in the request because doing so would have exceeded the request limit.
