This request is made with the intent of preserving the kinship placement of a two-year-old boy who was recently sheltered with a relative caregiver. The caregiver is doing everything she can to meet his needs while also caring for her own children in the home, one of whom is an infant. Due to the recent government shutdown, the household has been significantly impacted by the loss of food stamp benefits. As a result, the caregiver is experiencing hardship in keeping groceries in the home. They could also benefit from some winter clothes for this little guy.
A $100 grocery gift card would help relieve some of this burden and support the stability of this kinship placement as she navigates this challenging time.
