This request is made with the intent to preserve the kinship placement of 4 children between the ages of 1 – 10 who have been placed under the care of their grandmother. While grandma has rearranged her life in order to properly meet the individual needs of her grandkids, she is having a hard time with the transition period over from living and being on her own, to now having 4 children whom she needs to care after. Grandma is a pastor herself as has been juggling her pastoral role with her grandma one as best she can, but there has been a delay in the funding, at the moment due to the newness of the placement. Grandma is working with our licensure team, but this will take between 1-2 months before she sees any sort of financial benefit from it. The grandmother has taken up door dash and is on the road from 5am till late in the afternoon trying to make ends meet for herself and for the children. Due to not only the rising costs of groceries but also gas, she is desperately needing some assistance to alleviate this weight on her shoulders until we can see her through to gaining licensure. We do not want to see this placement fall through as grandma has been working diligently on making ends meet, but we also understand the reality of the situation.
