At 18 years old, most young men are looking toward the horizon—thinking about graduation, new adventures, and the world outside their front door. But for the young man we’re asking help for the world has become very small.
For the last 13 years, he’s been using the same wheelchair he received when he was just five years old. To put that in perspective, he is a grown man trying to navigate life in equipment built for a small child. It is no longer just uncomfortable; it is a barrier to his growth. Because his current chair is outdated and failing, he is missing out on the highlight of his senior year: school field trips with his peers.
But there is a more urgent “hidden” struggle he frequently deals with episodes where he bangs his head, leading to painful swelling and frequent nosebleeds. As his parents, seeing him hurt is the hardest part of every day. He desperately needs a specialized protective helmet to safeguard his brain and prevent these injuries, but with eight other siblings at home, the family’s resources are stretched beyond their limit.
We are reaching out asking that you consider providing two things that will change his life:
A New, Fitted Wheelchair: To give him the mobility to attend school trips and engage with the world comfortably.
The most important is a Medical-Grade Helmet: To ensure his safety and put an end to the cycles of swelling and injury.
Both can be found on Amazon. Thank you in advance.
