Holy God,
On this day of quiet wonder,
we rest in the mystery of the Word made flesh.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
Jesus, born among us,
you came not in power, but in presence—
a child in a manger,
teaching us that love chooses humility.
You later whispered, “Abide in me.” (John 15:4)
So now we abide.
We release our striving, our noise, our need to explain.
As the mystics taught,
we let go of many words to rest in the One Word.
We pray that Christ may be born again in the depths of our souls.
Breath by breath,
we welcome your peace.
Moment by moment,
we receive your presence.
God with us,
form Christ within us today—
until love becomes our life,
and light becomes our way.
Amen.
